Day 3 Whole 30

After a beast of a CrossFit workout last night I really thought about sleeping in this morning. Instead I dragged my butt out of bed, pumped and headed to class.

I am super weak on the sit-ups and I am only doing step ups instead of box jumps. The hill sprints kinda sucked too.

Breakfast was the same except I added a cup of blueberries.

I had a snack of an apple w/chocolate hazelnut butter. I may have licked that wrapper clean!
I am getting good at this food staging huh!?!

After doing loads of laundry and dishes I had lunch. I just threw the rest of the turkey taco meat and chicken salad and had it over some spinach and romaine and tossed a couple strawberries on top.
I put a little balsamic vinegar in top and I was good to go.

I have had a few handfuls of almonds throughout the day.

Dinner was salmon with roasted cauliflower and broccoli. It was good but I could of used a sweet potato to stay fuller longer.

I make my kids the same thing for dinner as I eat. I do add more carbs for them though.   They wanted to show proof that they ate their salmon.

Another day is in the books.
I have worked out three days in a row!! Go Me!

Day 2 Whole 30

I slept in.  Well I had to get up at 4am to pump and then it was back to bed till 6:45 when my 3 yr old climbed into our bed. No one is getting sleep if he is in the same bed
I ate a banana w/almond butter at 4am.

Breakfast was the same as yesterday

I had a snack of grapes and 2 tablespoons of almond butter

I went to Walmart hungry. Not a good idea. After taking a dozen random things the 3yr old put in the cart out and enduring no less then five crying episodes I wanted to dive into the salt water taffy display!
I resisted and instead bought these almonds.
I know they are not totally Whole 30 approved but they are yummy and keep me out of the candy aisle.

Lunch was a Chicken Salad Wrap. It has chicken, apple and walnuts mixed with some olive oil mayo.

I was worried that I would still be hungry after this but I was full by the last forkful.

Drinking lots of water.
I decided to go to a CrossFit class at 7pm. I knew from experience that eating within two hours of working out would be a big mistake. I instead had a protein drink.

I knew the workout was going to be a beast
It was for sure a "gut check". It took me  41:43 to complete this workout.  I was like one of the last five to finish. But I finished dang it!!
This is what I looked like after a workout like that

Dinner was simple. 5oz of turkey taco meat and broccoli.
I am chugging the water. Kind of giving myself a gut ache with all the water.
I haven't had a headache today so that's good. I haven't really had too many cravings for candy but I am sure those will come.
I am in the super focused stage of this challenge. It's going to be this weekend where I will need to stay strong.
Day 2 done!  Kenny is also still going strong.

Day 1 Whole 30

Wake-up call at 4:20 am
Drink 8oz of water
I had to get up way early to pump and pick up my friend by 4:50 am
5am CrossFit class
I haven't worked out in 2 weeks!  I have been babying my back and it's been feeling better. I need to strengthen my core so bad!  This was a good workout and that backwards run was uphill and made the legs burn SO good.

Here is my starting weight/weekly weigh in

Breakfast was

Two eggs, three pieces of toast and half an avocado. Yummy.

Drank lots of water. Around 24 oz.

Lunch was 5oz of tuna, half an avocado and some salad with olives, artichoke hearts and banana peppers all mixed together and topped with some balsamic vinegar.
Yummy but not very breath friendly.

I began to have a headache about 3pm and it is still lingering. I expected this and know that it won't last more then a couple days.

I had a snack of an apple and a few almonds

I filled this thing up a few times.
Lost count of all the bathroom breaks.
Dinner was 5oz of chicken with a big handful of spinach and 1 white onion that I sautéed together and a sweet potato.

I am now headed for bed. I have a pretty good headache going in right now. I am hoping to sleep it off!  Also I need to avoid the dark chocolate chips in my freezer!

This Is Happening!!

I am an addict. A sugar addict. A food addict. I am not really joking. I can easily down a whole batch of cookies. It's getting out of control.  So I am taking what some might say is drastic measures.
I am doing a Whole 30. If you want details go to www.whole9life.com. I am posting this from my phone so I don't know how to make links work.

I am also going to be following this Whole 30 plan I found on the website www.robinssweetconfessions.com. She has a great plan set up complete with recipes. I recommend checking out both sites if you plan on doing a Whole 30.

I am pretty confident that I am going to do well. I have done a Paleo challenge before and won and that challenge lasted 45 days. I know it's going to be hard but I am looking forward to the challenge.
I am also excited that my Mom and sister is going to do the challenge with me. I have even challenged my 8 yr old to go 30 days without junk food. If she does then I will take her on a Mommy/daughter date. I hope she does it cause I really want to go on that date with her.
I plan on posting every day and posting on my Instagram. Feel free to follow me @ jmeek32.
I am off to get my food ready for tomorrow!!

Game Plan

I had a great post all written out and ready to go but I somehow deleted it. Lame.

The fitness challenge that I did ended on Thursday. I lost a total of six pounds and a few inches. Not bad but not that great considering the minimal effort I put in.

The Game Plan is this. I will not focus on how much I have to lose. I will not focus on the time it will take. I will not focus on what I cannot eat.  I will not make myself crazy thinking about exercise and clean eating. I will focus on losing the 80lbs I want to lose slow and steady. I want to keep this weight off!  I want to be able to enjoy treats though. I will not be a never eat sweets/bread kind of girl.

I want to focus on losing 2lbs a week. I want to drink LOTS of water. I want to get some form of exercise in 5 to 6 days a week.  I will have my kids involved in my healthy eating efforts. I will make cookies (I just won't eat the whole batch).

At 2lbs a week it is going to take me 40 weeks to lose the weight I want to. I know that some weeks won't go my way. I know that I will sometimes get in my way. I also know that if I don't start now I will never come close to reaching my goal.

I am also aware that having a nursing baby is going to be a challenge. I accept that challenge!

So here is my weigh in this morning

That's a 5.2 lb loss since last weigh in. I will take it.

What's a post with out a selfish

I need to lose some lbs so I can wear my other scrubs!

Weigh In Week One

This was my weigh in on Monday morning.

Sorry it's sideways but I can't fix it since I am posting from my phone. I plan on weighing in every Monday at work.

I am not doing too great on my fitness challenges. I dropped the boot camp class and have been pretty hit and miss with the other.

Every time I try to explain my reasoning it just sounds like a huge bunch of excuses because they are. Weight loss and exercising is such a mental challenge and I am going a little insane right now.

I hope I can pull myself out of this funk sooner then later.
