Day 11 and done

No working out today. I took a rest day because it was a crazy day and my husband was out of town.

Here is a collage of my day. There were a few handfuls of caco chips thrown in there.

Like I said when I posted this pic on Instagram and Facebook it's time to call this challenge what it really is. It's not really a Whole 30 it's more of a Paleo with a few non Paleo bites thrown in.

I am proud at how well I have done and I plan on eating this way forever. I do know there will be many times when I won't be perfect but I don't want to be. I also don't want to be controlled by my sweet tooth either.

I am really going to work hard on finding the best way of eating that helps me accomplish my fitness goals but still allows me to have treats.

Day 10 Whole 30

Arise and shine at 4:30 am.
Feed the baby and go back to sleep!
Josh is deer hunting so that means no early morning WODS for me.  I headed instead to the 9:30 am class.
This was a tough WOD (aren't they all). Running I can handle. Sit-ups and double unders 4 months after my fourth baby!?!  I have no core or bladder strength!  I look forward to doing this WOD again in a few months and know that my time will be much better. I finished in 28:54.

Getting up later and then working out kinda threw my eating times off.  I ate this oatmeal w/almond butter, cinnamon and splash of almond milk and two eggs at 11 am.

Lunch was leftover salad from Sunday with chicken I scraped out of the tortilla things we had last night with some chopped up Roma tomato and avocado. I splashed some balsamic vinegar for dressing.

Snack was some 60% caco chips.

Dinner was spaghetti squash, broccoli and 1/2 cup ground chicken.  I mixed this all together after and put a tablespoon of spagehtt sauce over it.

Bedtime snack is an apple with almond butter and more chips.

I am for sure not doing this 100% pure Whole 30 but I am doing the best I can each day. I have been slacking on the water the last couple days so I need to step that up.

Day 9 Whole 30

Arise and shine at 4:25
A great WOD. This was a butt kicker. I now have another goal to accomplish at CrossFit. A wall walk up. I finished this in 17:50ish.

I really love that Britt has come with me this week. I hope this happens more often!!
I
Breakfast was again yummy
Snack
Lunch. Grilled salad from Dairy Queen minus the cheese and a few fries from LJ's kids meal.
I bought these at WalMart. Yummy.

I need to get rid of these. Too many trips to the freezer to get a handful.

Dinner. This happened because I am feeling a little burned out and am reveling a little.

I need to get out of this little mental eating funk that I in. I just want to eat all the time and eat whatever I want and see. I think I am going to still eat strict Paleo but take a break from posting what I eat in Instagram or lots of detail here.

Who knows I might wake up more motivated to step it up and stuck with it.

Day 8 Whole 30

Awake at 4:30 am
CrossFit at 5am. It was fun to work out for the first time in the new gym.
There were lots of people there and I guess even more at the 6am class.
Weighed in at

Awesome.
Breakfast was the usual at the hospital.

We were super busy so here was a quick snack.

Lunch was an unwhich #12 from Jimmy Johns no cheese.
These were yummy cashew clusters with almonds and pumpkin seeds. Not sure if they were totally Paleo but they were good.

Chicken, sweet potato and broccoli for dinner.

I ended the day with a banana and some dark chocolate chips

Good night

Day 7 Whole 30

This sums up the whole day

We had Kadens baby blessing and I was not prepared to eat well. Too many snitches of treats and now my head feels like it's going to explode.

Sugar hates me.

Day 6 Whole 30

My dream of sleeping in didn't come true.  LJ woke up at 1am with some barking cough and we brought him into our bed to keep a close watch of him. At 5:30am LJ was up and ready to role. He woke up the baby and there went my sleeping in.

Breakfast was banana pancake made of two eggs blended with one banana. Cook it over low heat.  Two pieces of bacon and half a cup of raspberries.

The pancake was okay and it was a nice change from the eggs.

CJ had a soccer game at 9 am. He actually ran after the ball and didn't cry. Definitely an improvement over last season. I had a snack of a banana bread Lara Bar.  I liked it.

I only had an hour after the soccer game till Kenny's volleyball game. I was feeling hungry but didn't want to make lunch so I had a snack of almonds and an apple.

I am super happy that Kenny wanted to try volleyball.  It's kinda hard to watch kid after kid try to underhand serve and shank it every time. It's a good thing I had a small piece of my Big Hunk left in the van to see me through.

I know this is not Paleo but it was yummy.

Lunch was a BLAT. Bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato wrapped in romaine  lettuce.

We headed into town to run some errands and picked up some Buffalo jerky. It tasted like beef.

There are some family gatherings going on this weekend so sticking to the plan is tricky.

Dinner was a hamburger chopped up and put over a salad w/pico and a hot dog on the side.

I also indulged in some dessert. A scoop of cherry cobler, peach crisp and vanilla ice cream.
I was only able to eat half of it. I enjoyed it  and don't feel bad about it.

Tomorrow is going to be another challenging day but I will do my best to make the best choices I can and not beat myself up over any non Paleo choices.

Day 5 Whole 30

Arise and shine at 4:20 AM.
Protein shake

I headed to HVCF for a great class.

It took me 17:25 to finish the WOD.  I attempted a wall stand. I stayed in the wall stand for 25 seconds but definitely wasn't strong enough to attempt it one handed.

I know it looks like my chest is about to smother me but I was more worried about my head exploding!  I now have another goal to accomplish at Crossfit. One armed wall stand here I come.

Breakfast was three eggs, three pieces of turkey bacon, half an avocado and half cup of raspberries.

I worked today and it's always a challenge to eat healthy.  I turned down some yummy Baskin Robins mint ice cream cake. I had an Apple Pie Lara Bar.

It was pretty good and I would get one again.

Lunch time at work!  It's so hard to stick to the plan. I didn't bring anything so I was just planning in going down to the cafeteria and getting a salad. My lovely friends/coworkers wanted to go to Cafe Rio. I can't say no to that.

I ordered a chicken salad with no rice, beans, cheese or chips. I also had the vinegrette dressing.

I got lots of pico and extra lettuce. The tortilla is my favorite and instead of going crazy on it and eating the whole thing I let myself have a few pieces and then threw the rest of it away. That was NOT easy.

I had a snack of blueberries and hazelnut butter.

I was only able to eat half my salad so I saved it and had the rest for dinner.  I added a sweet potato.

My bedtime snack is one serving of (24) blueberry almonds and (36) 60% Caco chocolate chips.

I am going to eat this snack in bed while reading a book. I am going to stay up a little late cause I don't have to get up so early in the morning!!  Yay for sleeping in! Who am I kidding I will still need to get up and pump so my chest doesn't explode. My baby is worth it though!

Day 4 Whole 30/Paleo

The day started off rough. When your three year old wakes up at 1am ready to play you know it's going to be a long night!  After laying by him for an hour and getting kicked, kissed and hugged I gave up and gave him the phone to watch a show on.

I woke up at 4:30 so stinking hot and sweaty. I fell back asleep and woke up at 5:30 am to pump and head to Insanity.

I was feeling shaky and light headed and almost went back to bed. Instead I ate a banana and a protein drink.

I went to the class. While I tried hard I pretty much modified every move and took tons of breaks. I was just not feeling good!

I sent the kids off to school and made breakfast. Even though I know it's not Paleo or whole 30 approved I am going to eat oatmeal at least three times a week because I feel like I am losing my milk supply and I don't want that to happen.

Breakfast was a cup of oatmeal sweetened with two packets of Stevia
with 2 tsp of almond butter, half cup of blueberries and two eggs.   I also had a cup of almond/coconut milk.

I was pretty full from that until about 1pm. I was heading into Costco and you don't going to that store hungry so I had a snack of an apple and a packet of almonds.

Since I hadn't been feeling good I was unmotivated to prepare lunch/dinner for myself so I stopped at Durangos and ordered a small steak salad with fajita veggies, guacamole, extra poco and a little vinegrette dressing.  The girl was quite surprised I didn't want any tortilla, beans, rice or cheese.
I loved this salad.

There was a fundraising spagehtt dinner at the church so I knew I was not going to be eating that. I had leftovers from last night.

Salmon, avocado and roasted cauliflower.

My bedtime snack was a coconut cream pie Lara Bar.

It was alright. Not my favorite but I did also get a carrot cake and apple pie to try. These bars are awesome in that they are made of all natural ingredients and Paleo friendly.

So how am I doing at the end of Day 4? I am feeling pretty good. I want a treat but not really. I am sleeping good and I haven't been too hungry. I didn't drink enough water today. I went to the store at 8pm and bought all the ingredients for pumpkin Paleo waffles but didn't want to go to the effort. I think I will have to make those Sat morning.

I should probably call this a Whole 30/Paleo challenge. It's not going to be a perfect Whole 30 but I am not competing against anyone.  I am just trying to do the best I can.

Day 3 Whole 30

After a beast of a CrossFit workout last night I really thought about sleeping in this morning. Instead I dragged my butt out of bed, pumped and headed to class.

I am super weak on the sit-ups and I am only doing step ups instead of box jumps. The hill sprints kinda sucked too.

Breakfast was the same except I added a cup of blueberries.

I had a snack of an apple w/chocolate hazelnut butter. I may have licked that wrapper clean!
I am getting good at this food staging huh!?!

After doing loads of laundry and dishes I had lunch. I just threw the rest of the turkey taco meat and chicken salad and had it over some spinach and romaine and tossed a couple strawberries on top.
I put a little balsamic vinegar in top and I was good to go.

I have had a few handfuls of almonds throughout the day.

Dinner was salmon with roasted cauliflower and broccoli. It was good but I could of used a sweet potato to stay fuller longer.

I make my kids the same thing for dinner as I eat. I do add more carbs for them though.   They wanted to show proof that they ate their salmon.

Another day is in the books.
I have worked out three days in a row!! Go Me!
